I read this on another blog today and thought it was funny, just had to share.
As I was reading our local paper this morning I came across this in "The Vent" section.
On my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a "Obama 08" tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference. Just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need........the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more.
Shouldn't we get to decide who it goes to if we have to "share"?

Too Funny! I was talking to my dad, a former Bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, about this concept. He said that the reason the church welfare program works is because each Ward has a steward, a Bishop, to encourage work and effort from those who have received assistance. In a federal government there is nobody to do that job. Those who receive assistance don't have to be accountable to anyone for what they are doing to better their circumstances and become more self-reliant. And so the assistance just becomes a handout. Makes sense.
Oh my. That is hilarous. I wish I could have scene the servers face. I can imagine it, but that is just too funny. Love the story. I feel the same way though, I'm going to be throwig my own hissy fit in a few days time too if Obama is elected. Here's something else for you. My 5 year old was watching Sunday morning cartoons on regular TV, a News blib came on and mentioned Obama, she picked it up and said "I know Bar RACK OH Bamah." Hubby and I looked at each other and laughed. I guess her list has expanded Troy, Gabriella, Hananah, Obama...He is a famous person in her eyes because she hears his name everywhere! (Shakin my head.)
The sad thing is waiters are the lowest hourly paid employees! I've never understood homeless on street corners with signs. I understand homeless shelter homeless. Can anyone explain that to me?
This is very funny! I heard a soundbite from Barak in 2001 stating (not a direct quote) that the constitution was flawed and that the judicary should do more regarding the redistribution of wealth! Seriously, he is scary!
that's too funny!
