Behind the major media's and American public's back, President Bush and the power-hungry Vice President Cheney 'have waged a clandestine operation inside the White House' which has involved thousands of our troops and private Presidential meetings kept of his public calendars. What has been their top-secret effort that they didn't want public attention for?

It must be difficult to stomach for some people to see that President Bush does have a conscience and a heart! I find it endearing that he did this his entire presidency without wanting the public to know. Would it have helped his image? I'm sure. But his absolute indifference to polls affected his approval ratings negatively. He didn't do anything because it would either hurt or, as this proves, help his image.
There are MANY, many things I absolutely disagreed with Pres. Bush on. But it is refreshing to hear something positive being reported about our all-too-often demonized President.
I haven't completely agreed with Bush on everything or even much. But I have always trusted that he thought that what he was doing was for the best of the country. However, I do think that he is a good man and I think that the media has hated him from the beginning. He has endured a lot as a president and it really really really bothers me when people make rude comments about him personally (ie. "don't let the door hit you on the way out"). Disagree with his policies, if you will, you have the right to do that, but don't be disrespectful. He hasn't done anything to earn the complete disrespect that he gets. I think he is an upright man who has great character and I am NOT at all surprised that he did this in private.
Cheney has also gotten a bad wrap (here goes another name drop) but my brother-in-law's father is a really good man and in my mind, brillant--it also helps that he is an upstanding member of the church. He worked high up under several presidents and particulary close with Ford, Reagan and Bush. He liked some and didn't like some, but he LOVED Cheney and said that he was a really kind man and always had the best intensions for our country. Heaven forbid he is an expert in the oil industry, because he must be evil!
There is MUCH that I could say, but it is Christmas Eve so I will be brief: One nobel deed doth not a great leader make.
Merry Christmas!!!!
Read it a few times, maybe the 'doth' threw me off...but I didn't quite get it. But Merry Christmas just the same!
I believe the mark of a good leader is their ability to do what they believe is right regardless of what some might say. I haven't always agreed with President Bush, but I do believe that he is a good man, a man of integrity, and a man who did what he believed was right. This was one more evidence to me of his goodness. Doing good "for the world to see" is totally different than doing good for only the recipient to see. I'm glad he's about done and can settle down now. I think he deserves a break.
