Dear South Carolina Representative Joe Wilson:
I wanted to send my deepest appreciation for your help in bringing us conservatives some positive media coverage. As you know the past few months the media and the administration has labeled the majority of us as being part of an "angry mob" with an inability to control our tempers, and we needed one such opportunity to clear our names and give us a fresh start.
I would also like to thank you for bringing some expression back into the perpetually tightened and botoxed face of Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Vice President Joe Biden's hairplugs slightly moved as his brow furrowed. It is a relief to see that neither of them have been completely embalmed.
Again, thank you!

The fact of the matter is that he would be a hero in the eyes of the media if he was a democrat. I am not applauding his nonsense, I am just sick and tired of the double standard in the media. I can guarantee that if it was President Bush talking about weapons of mass destruction and a democrat yelled "liar", our friends on the left would be shouting hoorays, instead they call him a cry baby. Way to keep it real.
The only thing that really bugs me about this is that he was an easy distraction from the media needing to actually cover the speech of the President. His obnoxious behavior that lasted all but 1/2 a second seemed to get more attention than what that meeting was truly about. Where oh where are our priorities.
I could care less about how the media covers it, or rather, how the media would cover the flip side. We should be used to that by now. It is completely a double standard, just as it is a double standard to give several minutes of coverage on CNN to the hundreds of supporters of Obama's health care speech but barely mention the estimated 1.2 million attendee's at the capitol on 9-12.
Double standard aside, it never helps anyone's cause when they let emotions take over their message.
I disagree. I think we need to continue to push back on the media. To lay down and die and say "we should be use to that by now" is, in part, the reason our country is in the mess it is in today. The media is where we get our info. If we can't rely on them to report relevant news then who can we turn too? We just let the media hijack the political agenda and cover what they want. They used Wilson's outburst to distract from the real message of the evening. More people knew that he called Obama a liar than people knew what Obama was even talking about.
I have no problem with people getting emotional sometimes. Was the setting appropriate? Not even, but it's the emotions over any logic that have gotten the left where they are today. Apparently emotions work.
